"Quintet"
This was my MIAD thesis installation/exhibition, consisting of five 30x40" posters printed on Kodak Endura paper (metallic). Each poster features a different jazz musician and works to communicate a specific quality characteristic of jazz music.
The featured players and the quality associated with each are as follows: Max Roach (drums, percussion/syncopation), Eric Dolphy (sax, flue/rhythm), John Coltrane (sax/improv), Bill Evans (piano/harmony) and Charles Mingus (bass/repetition) — pictured respectively.
A 5.1 surround-sound audio collage composed entirely of sampled jazz music/dialogue accompanied the prints. Have a listen here (14:50').
